Description
Type III collagen is a major collagen found in human skin, fascia, and tendons, existing in a 4:1 ratio with Type I collagen. Finer in structure, Type III collagen is located between the epidermis and the dermis and is often referred to as "baby collagen." It accounts for up to 80% of collagen content during infancy and is a crucial protein for maintaining skin elasticity. The micro-collagen layer, primarily composed of Type III collagen, is the tissue structure situated between the epidermis and dermis. It is key to supporting the epidermis, and its degradation marks the initial step in skin collapse. The human body cannot synthesize Type III collagen on its own.
The recombinant human Type III collagen fragment produced by our company is expressed and purified in yeast cells via genetic recombination technology. Through multiple separation and purification methods, we obtain a human-like Type III collagen characterized by high purity and low endotoxin.
