Description
Mouse insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF-II) is a member of the insulin-like growth factor family with a molecular weight of 7.34 kDa, comprising 67 amino acid residues. IGF-II is primarily expressed in early embryonic somatic tissues, the liver, and the epithelial cells of the brain surface. It mediates embryonic development and placental growth, while also promoting tumor growth. IGF-II regulates cell proliferation, growth, migration, differentiation, and survival by binding to the IGF-I receptor.

Biological activity |
Measure by its ability to induce MCF-7 cells proliferation. The ED₅₀ for this effect is <6 ng/mL. The specific activity of recombinant mouse IGF-II is > 1.5 x 10⁵ IU/mg. |

Reconstitution Instructions |
Briefly centrifuge the vial at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized powder with sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/mL, and let it stand for at least 20 minutes to ensure complete dissolution. The reconstituted solution can be further diluted and aliquoted. When performing further dilution and aliquoting, a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA) must be added. For serum-free experimental requirements, a 5% trehalose solution can be used as an alternative carrier. |
Storage
Store at -25 to -15°C. Valid for 1 year from receipt. After reconstitution, store at 2 to 8°C for up to 7 days, or at -85 to -65°C for up to 3 months. To avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting the protein upon first use.
