Effortless DNA extraction from Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, and fungi.

The MolPure Magnetic Bacterial DNA Kit provides a simple and rapid solution for extracting genomic DNA from Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, and fungi. The kit employs super-paramagnetic bead-based purification technology and requires no toxic phenol/chloroform extraction. The workflow is straightforward, and the purified DNA is directly compatible with restriction digestion, PCR, sequencing, and labeling applications.

Features

• High yield and excellent purity: specific lysis beads provide more complete cell-wall disruption, yielding DNA of high purity and high recovery.

• High efficiency: lysozyme incubation is not required, and high-quality DNA can be obtained within a short hands-on time, enabling seamless integration with liquid-handling workstations or fully automated nucleic-acid extractors for rapid, large-scale processing.

• Excellent safety: the workflow avoids toxic organic solvents including phenol, chloroform, and β-mercaptoethanol.

DNA extraction from eight 7–8 ml bacterial cultures (centrifuged cell pellets), processed with 350 μl lysis buffer, 20 μl Proteinase K, and 10 μl RNase A, homogenized on a Retsch MM400 at 30 Hz for 5 min, incubated at 65°C for 10 min, and purified on a 48-channel automated extractor (70 μl elution). Gram-negative species (E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella) yielded Qubit concentrations >120 ng/μl; Gram-positive species (S. aureus, L. monocytogenes) were also successfully detected.
