Description
T4 DNA Polymerase catalyzes DNA synthesis in the 5'-3' direction in the presence of a template and primer. T4 DNA Polymerase has 3'→5' exonuclease activity but lacks 5'→3' exonuclease activity. Compared to T4 DNA Polymerase (Cat#12901ES), UCF.METM T4 DNA Polymerase has lower host residue, making it suitable for applications that require stricter background control, such as pathogen detection.
Applications
Smoothing of DNA 5' or 3' overhanging ends
Synthesis of labeled DNA probes via displacement reaction
Synthesis of the second strand during site-directed mutagenesis
Cloning of PCR products without reliance on ligation reactions
