This product allows dynamic monitoring of protein electrophoresis status and transfer efficiency. After SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, clear colored bands are visible following transfer onto PVDF or NC membranes. Because pre-stained proteins are conjugated to dyes, the apparent molecular weights may vary in gels of different concentrations, as noted in the manual; this product is therefore for reference only when judging the molecular weight of target proteins. Store at -15 to -25°C. Shelf life: 2 years. If used frequently, the product can be stored at 4°C for up to 3 months. Aliquotting is recommended to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Pre-stained protein markers from different manufacturers differ in the types of dyes used, labeling protocols, and buffer systems, which can lead to varying degrees of band migration shift (i.e., differences between apparent and actual molecular weights), and fully consistent results cannot be achieved. Please refer to the gel comparison images on our website. If precise determination of molecular weight is required, unstained protein markers can be used.
No. Because this product contains SDS, proteins are denatured, and their molecular weights are indicated under SDS-PAGE conditions: proteins bind to SDS and their intrinsic charges are masked, so migration depends only on molecular weight. In native PAGE, however, proteins retain their natural conformation and charge, and the migration rate is determined jointly by molecular size, shape, and charge; therefore, the migration position of proteins cannot be judged by molecular weight alone.
In theory, markers have no antibody binding sites and cannot be detected; however, if the target protein has binding sites similar to those of the marker, it may be recognized by the antibody and thereby visualized. Thermo Fisher has also provided relevant explanations regarding marker visualization. This possibility cannot be avoided.
