Descripción
Galectin-10 (Gal-10) is a member of the galectin family and one of the prototype galectins. It contains a carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) responsible for binding β-galactosides, and exists as a biologically active homodimer. Galectin-10 has been reported to be present in eosinophils, as well as in basophils and macrophages. Accumulating evidence indicates that galectin-10 spontaneously forms Charcot-Leyden crystals (CLCs), which are involved in allergic reactions and related inflammatory responses. Multiple binding partners for galectin-10 have been identified, including eosinophil cationic ribonuclease, eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (EDN, RNS2), and eosinophil cationic protein (ECP, RNS3), suggesting that these interactions are crucial for eosinophil differentiation and granule formation.

Reconstitution Instructions |
Briefly centrifuge the vial at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized powder with sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/mL, and let it stand for at least 20 minutes to ensure complete dissolution. The reconstituted solution can be further diluted and aliquoted. When performing further dilution and aliquoting, a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA) must be added. For serum-free experimental requirements, a 5% trehalose solution can be used as an alternative carrier. |
Storage
Store at -25 to -15°C. Valid for 1 year from receipt. After reconstitution, store at 2 to 8°C for up to 7 days, or at -85 to -65°C for up to 3 months. To avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting the protein upon first use.
