Descripción
HiSalt T4 DNA Ligase is a salt-tolerant mutant of T4 DNA ligase that catalyzes the formation of phosphodiester bonds between adjacent 5′ phosphate and 3′ hydroxyl termini on double-stranded DNA or RNA. Compared with the wild-type T4 DNA ligase, this enzyme exhibits stronger tolerance under high-salt conditions. Its catalytic activity depends on ATP as a cofactor and remains effective at salt concentrations up to 300 mM. It can ligate both blunt and cohesive ends, repair double-stranded DNA, and seal single-strand nicks in some DNA/RNA hybrid strands.

Relative activity was measured at increasing NaCl concentrations. 14967ES (red triangles) maintained high ligation activity up to 750 mM NaCl, while the wild-type T4 DNA ligase (black triangles) showed a marked activity decline above 100 mM NaCl.
