Beschreibung
Galectin-13 (Gal-13) is a member of the galectin family and one of the prototype galectins. It contains a carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) responsible for binding β-galactosides, and exists as a biologically active homodimer. Expressed in the placenta, galectin-13 participates in T-cell apoptosis, immune regulation, and immune tolerance, all of which are crucial for fetal development. For instance, galectin-13 forms crystal-like aggregates in the decidua, which attract and eliminate maternal immune cells. Furthermore, galectin-13 is essential for neutrophil polarization in the placental growth-permissive phenotype.

Reconstitution Instructions |
Briefly centrifuge the vial at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized powder with sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/mL, and let it stand for at least 20 minutes to ensure complete dissolution. The reconstituted solution can be further diluted and aliquoted. When performing further dilution and aliquoting, a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA) must be added. For serum-free experimental requirements, a 5% trehalose solution can be used as an alternative carrier. |
Storage
Store at -25 to -15°C. Valid for 1 year from receipt. After reconstitution, store at 2 to 8°C for up to 7 days, or at -85 to -65°C for up to 3 months. To avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, we recommend aliquoting the protein upon first use.
