Description

Sodium urate is the sodium salt of uric acid and is found in the synovial fluid of individuals with gout. Sodium urate can precipitate calcium oxalate from urine. It has also been shown to reverse the inhibitory effects of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species on the activity of gelatinase A. Sodium urate can be formulated into a NaCl suspension and administered via intra-articular injection in experimental animals to induce synovitis.

Application

Metabolic Research: Used to study purine metabolism and uric acid metabolic pathways.

Disease Modeling: Suitable for establishing animal models of hyperuricemia and gout.

Drug Screening: Applicable for screening and evaluating the activity of uric acid metabolism regulators.
