Description
The 6× DNA Loading Buffer is used for the preparation of DNA samples prior to agarose gel electrophoresis or polyacrylamide-agarose gel electrophoresis. The buffer components have been optimized, with the dye solution including indicators Bromophenol Blue and Xylene Cyanol FF, enabling visual monitoring of DNA migration during electrophoresis. Glycerol ensures the sample settles at the bottom of the loading wells, while EDTA chelates divalent metal ions and inhibits metal ion-dependent nucleases.
Components
The 6× DNA Loading Buffer includes the following components:
- 30 mM EDTA
- 36% (v/v) Glycerol
- 0.05% (w/v) Xylene Cyanol FF
- 0.05% (w/v) Bromophenol Blue
Shipping and Storage
Transported at room temperature. Stable for 12 months at 4°C. Long-term storage at -20°C.
Instructions for Use
1. Mix 1 volume of 6× DNA Loading Buffer with 5 volumes of DNA sample.
2. Mix thoroughly, centrifuge briefly, and load the sample.
