Dextran Sulfate Sodium Salt (DSS) is a polyanionic derivative, and although the mechanism of its induction of colitis in the model is still not well understood, it is generally believed to be related to macrophage dysfunction, intestinal microbiota dysbiosis, toxic effects of DSS on the colon epithelium, and the important role of cytokines in the pathogenesis of DSS colitis model.
Case 1
Animal Model: rats, 1 week old, 100 g;
Procedure: 5% DSS, 3.5 mL/100 g daily gavage, gavage for 2 weeks, HE staining;
Results: The colon length of UC rats was lower than that of healthy rats. The colonic mucosa is abnormal, with a large number of inflammatory cells.

Case 2
Animal Model: rats, 8 weeks old, 200 g;
Protocol: Drink 3.5% DSS for 10 days and stain with HE;
Results: Abnormality of the colonic mucosa.

Case 3
Animal Model: rats, 7 weeks old, 300-320 g;
Protocol: After drinking DSS at 2.0% concentration for 7 days, distilled water for 7 days for a total of 4 cycles, HEÂ staining;
Results: Abnormality of the colonic mucosa.

Product Advantages:
Yeasen Biotech provides high-quality DSS (Cat.NO: 60316ES, MW: 36000~50000), which has the following advantages:
- The symptoms are highly similar to those of human UC: it can be used to study the mechanism and efficacy of colitis.
- High mold forming rate: free to drink DSS aqueous solution, simple and easy to do, strong repeatability.
- A variety of colitis models can be constructed: acute colitis, chronic colitis, and colitis-related cancer (CAC) models can also be constructed in combination with AOM.
- Suitable for modeling a variety of animals: mice, rats, zebrafish, pigs, fruit flies, etc.
- High safety: DSS can be degraded by natural ecosystems, which is safe for the environment;
- High purity (>98%), sulfur content 17-19%, free sulfur <0.2%, supported by a large number of data literature, widely used in the construction of UC model;
- Combined with the use of Azoximetana(Aum), it can be used to induce colitis-related cancer (Colidis, Asochatate Kanse, Ka) animal model, successfully simulating the process of Ibud inducing Kachi.
